Meikero does not resell AI usage. Claude works through your own Claude account, so there is nothing to top up with us and no charge per change. Free costs nothing and includes one 4-hour Premium trial. Pro and Studio are paid once and keep working without renewal; renewing updates and support is optional and never billed automatically. Agency is a yearly plan for unlimited client sites.
Your AI provider subscription, hosting, domains and third-party premium plugins are separate. Claude availability, plan eligibility and usage limits are set by Anthropic. Meikero does not need an Anthropic API key.
How it works

Install the plugin
Download Meikero Free and upload the ZIP under Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Installing does not start the trial; a paid license key goes into the same installation later.

Choose permissions
On Meikero’s Permissions screen, choose which areas Claude may read or change and which theme or plugin folders it may access. Start with read-only.

Connect Claude
Click Prepare the connection on Meikero’s Overview, add Meikero as a custom connector in Claude with the MCP URL and the Authorization header, then ask it to describe your site.

Pro and Studio: if you do not renew, the version you bought keeps working; you stop receiving updates and support, and compatibility with future WordPress, PHP or AI-client changes is not guaranteed. Agency: when the plan ends, paid Meikero functionality stops — content and code already created stay on your sites. AI provider subscriptions, hosting, domains and third-party premium plugins are not included and are paid separately.
Permissions and recovery
You decide what Claude can touch.
The site administrator chooses, in WordPress, which data areas Claude may read or change and which theme or plugin folders it may access — and can turn any of it off again, or pause a whole website from the Meikero account.
- Automatic file backups. Theme and plugin file edits are backed up before they are written and can be restored.
- Content backups and revisions. Page, product, SEO, media and layout edits keep data snapshots; WordPress revisions apply to posts and pages.
- Project checkpoints on request. Ask Claude to checkpoint an approved theme or plugin folder before bigger work. A checkpoint holds supported text files only — not the database, media or the whole site.
- Safer edits. Edits to existing files and posts are checked against the latest version, and PHP files are syntax-checked before saving. That prevents some mistakes; it does not guarantee correct behaviour.
- Work sessions. Group related edits under a name and review them in History & backups.

FAQ
Common questions
What do I need on the AI side?
A Claude account on a plan that supports custom connectors. Meikero does not ask for an Anthropic API key. Claude availability, plan eligibility and usage limits are set by Anthropic and may change. ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor and other MCP clients are being tested and appear as “Coming soon” in the plugin — not supported yet.
Do I pay Meikero for AI usage?
No. There are no Meikero credits, token allowances or per-action fees. Claude runs on your own Claude account. Free costs nothing; Pro (€49, 3 websites) and Studio (€99, 10 websites) are paid once, and Agency (€199/year, unlimited websites) is yearly.
How does the free trial work?
Free includes one 4-hour Premium trial on one website. It starts with the first eligible, authorized AI tool request after you set it up — installation and connection checks do not count — and runs four consecutive hours. No card, no automatic charge. Afterwards Free reading and analysis continue, and what you built stays. Trial details.
What is the difference between the license key and the connection key?
The purchase license key (starts with MK-) unlocks paid tools on the websites it covers. The connection (Bearer) key is the secret you add to Claude’s custom connector on each site. They are separate; you can revoke and replace the connection key without touching the license. Never share either.
Which plugins and integrations are supported?
Core WordPress content and approved theme/plugin folders work on any compatible site. WooCommerce product tools appear when WooCommerce is active; SEO tools need Yoast SEO or Rank Math; WPBakery layouts can be edited, ACF and Elementor structures read, and Oxygen Builder has a Preview bridge. Other plugins are not specifically integrated. See the features and tool reference.
How do updates and renewal work?
Pro and Studio include 12 months of updates and standard support; renewing afterwards is optional (Pro €29/year, Studio €59/year) and never billed automatically. Without renewal the purchased version keeps working, but future compatibility is not guaranteed. Agency includes updates and priority support while the plan is active (€199/year). Are checkpoints a backup?
No. A checkpoint saves supported text files from one approved theme or plugin folder. It does not include your database, uploads or other plugins. Keep your normal site backups.
Can AI changes break my site?
Yes, they can — like any change. Meikero limits what Claude can touch, keeps backups of file and content edits and refuses PHP that does not parse, but it cannot guarantee correct runtime behaviour. Start read-only, test on staging where possible and review changes.
